Study Group – ‘Slow Wisdom’

We will be running a weekly study group on Wednesdays, 7.30-9.00pm, using material called ‘Slow Wisdom’ provided through Baptists Together. It is an exploration of how Baptists discern the mind of Christ at the Church meeting and draws on research undertaken by Revd Dr Ruth Moriarty. Each session will include a video introduced by the author, with interviews, and will be followed by the opportunity to discuss the issues raised. The sessions are as follows:

3 June             1. Experience of discernment and the church meeting

10 June           2. Biblical principles and the history of the church meeting

17 June           3. Slow wisdom – six marks of discernment

24 June           4. Discernment as embodied Christian practical wisdom

1 July             5. Ways forward for discernment in the Baptist Church

You can find more information about the course here https://baptist.org.uk/Groups/437893/Introduction_to_Slow.aspx, including the introductory video.
