Church Activities

Our church is very active on Sundays and during the week with regular worship services, prayer, Young Church for children and young people, Bible studies, social events, and Friday Friends. You can learn more about our regular activities on Our Present page.

Friday Friends is a community outreach opportunity where all are invited to share a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. It is for all ages to meet people, visit and make new friends.

Current Events

Ecumenical Lent Groups – This year’s groups, organised by Didsbury & Burnage Churches Working Together, are using a book called ‘Gravity Defied: A Lent course based on the movie Wicked’, by Rachel Mann, the Archdeacon of Salford and Bolton. The course, which consists of five sessions, explores a number of themes relevant to the contemporary world.

“These [themes] include recognising what is good and right and standing up for it even when mocked; the temptations of success, popularity and respectability; and the importance of friendship and solidarity. The topics are considered in the context of Jesus’ ministry recorded in the Gospels, the temptations and threats that he faced, and the persecution of those who followed him.”

There will be three groups in the area, starting the week of Monday 23 February.

• Mondays, c. 10.00am (after Mass). St Catherine’s RC, M20 6HS.
• Mondays, 7.30pm, Cornerstone URC, M20 6EE.
• Wednesdays, 2.00pm, United Didsbury Methodist Church, M20 5QQ.

As an introduction to the course, the film Wicked 1 will be shown at United Didsbury Methodist Church, Parrs Wood Road, Saturday 14 February at 2.00pm.
