We meet for worship every Sunday at 10.30am. We are currently meeting on Zoom (codes available from didsburybaptist@outlook.com)
You are welcome to join us.
Brian Haymes will lead worship and preach at DBC on Sunday. In Young Church the children are using Scripture Union materials and we are following their themes in the main service. On Sunday we will consider Jesus in his glory. Brian will preach on the transfiguration of Jesus and will base his thoughts on the biblical texts: Matthew 17.1-9 and Colossians 1.15-20. We start at 10.30 a.m. and Communion will be celebrated. We use gluten-free bread and non-alcoholic wine. Come and worship with us if you can. All are welcome and if you are visiting for the first time, we would be delighted to meet you.
We change our programme a little every second Sunday of the month at DBC. We start as usual at 10.30am with worship but our service is shorter and is for all ages. Creche space is available but we invite the children and young people to stay in with us. Young Church happens later, at 11.45, after a coffee break. The adults and young people also meet together at this time for a teaching and learning session. This week we will be discussing Christ and other faiths. After that we have a bring-and-share lunch. So the schedule this Sunday will be:
10.30 all age worship
11.15 tea and coffee
11.45 teaching and learning session and Young Church
12.30 bring-and-share lunch
Please feel free to join us for any or all these activities.
An enthusiastic new group has begun meeting more-or-less fortnightly at Didsbury Baptist Church to discuss Tom Wright’s excellent book Simply Jesus. The next meeting will take place on Monday 10 February at 7.30pm when the discussion will centre on chapters 4 and 5 (pages 27 to 55). Dates of future meetings are 24 February, 10 and 31 March and 14 April. If you would like to join us for any or all these gatherings you would be most welcome.
The next four Sundays at Didsbury Baptist Church will feature a four-part series of sermons by Brian Haymes and Robert Parkinson on the meaning of baptism (from a Baptist perspective, of course!)
Sunday 20 October Why believers’ baptism?
Brian Haymes
Sunday 27 October Why total immersion?

Sunday 3 November Who can be baptised?

Sunday 10 November What difference does baptism make?

On Sunday 22 May we held a final service in our old sanctuary before closing it for refurbishment. During the service we showed slides of memories associated with the sanctuary over the years. Click on the photo below to view the images (pus a couple of extra ones).
