Cakes for Haiti

Last Saturday some of the children of Didsbury Baptist Church hosted a coffee morning and cake-sale for Haiti. They brought the idea to our church meeting a couple of weeks prior and Saturday’s coffee morning was the result. Cakes were made and sold, coffees, teas and mocktails too. All the proceeds were donated to Christian Aid’s Haiti Appeal. Over £400 was raised, so congratulations to our children and to all who participated!

Our church building has excellent acoustics so it makes an interesting venue for music concerts. The Nick Homes Band played there in January and will be back again on Friday 26 Feb. A few of their songs from the last concert are available on YouTube:

You can download a pdf version of the booklet by clicking on the image on the left. The reflections will also appear daily online at http://cwtid.wordpress.com. There you can read the Bible readings for the day, read the daily reflection and make your own comments. Please check out the site, bookmark it in you browser and keep returning to participate in the discussion.

Haiti Coffee-Morning

A couple of weeks ago the children of Didsbury Baptist Church got together and decided to do something to help the relief work in response to the earthquake in Haiti. They came to the members of the church and asked if they could put on a coffee-morning and cake sale with proceeds going to Haiti. This will take place at Didsbury Baptist Church this Saturday morning (13 Feb), 10 till 12. If you are near Didsbury on Saturday morning and would like a tea or coffee or would like to buy a cake, please drop in and help our children raise as much money as possible.
